“Weakness terrifies me…So I fight. Constantly. And if I can do it, I can’t understand why everybody else can’t do it, too.” ~ Ned Weeks – The Normal Heart, Act I, Scene 7

What does it mean to stand up for your beliefs—to fight to the death for what you believe in? This is the question Ned Weeks faces as the AIDS epidemic breaks out around him in 1980s New York City. With the help of Dr. Emma Brookner, Ned leads the charge to raise awareness about this unknown and deadly disease that seems to affect only gay men. But how much can he do to help a community that is unwilling to recognize its own existence? And can he protect his loved ones from the turmoil? As both his professional and personal life is rocked by the outbreak, Ned is forced to question everything he thought he believed in. Loyalties are tested and no one is safe in this gripping and powerful political drama.
