ABOUT THE SHOW

The Effect follows Tristan and Connie, volunteers in a clinical drug trial testing an antidepressant. When they begin to fall in love, the two are left to wonder if their feelings are real or a side effect of the medication. Meanwhile, Dr. Lorna James, who is overseeing the trial works with and against her colleague and former lover Dr. Toby Sealey to ensure the ethicality of the trial for a drug she doesn’t quite believe in. A play in two acts, The Effect asks what makes us feel the way do, and how we know whether or not to trust those feelings.
