Painted Black and Blue is a student-written play chronicling a young woman’s experience with domestic abuse in college. Addie’s relationship with Vincent starts to become something she doesn’t recognize and she finds herself fighting to understand her situation as it spirals out of control. Even after the relationship ends, Addie continues to be tormented by her experiences, unable to sleep or escape her memories. Painted Black and Blue is a play not only about abuse, but also about the lasting effects of trauma and the fight that continues long after the abuse ends.

This performance is not suitable for children under the age of 14. This performance deals with issues of rape and domestic abuse. Please contact Angelica Clayton ([email protected]) with any questions.
