“And you find out you don’t have to be happy at all//to be happy you’re alive” How do we love someone who is suffering? In next to normal, each member of the Goodman family copes with the severe mental illness of Diana, the mother. With a powerful and heart-wrenching score, we follow the Goodman’s as they try to heal from unimaginable loss and create their own sense of normalcy. This show illustrates the effects of mental illness on the loved ones of those suffering and the courage it takes to survive just another day. It is irreverent, heartbreaking, and of incredible importance in the current culture surrounding mental illness.

Please be aware this production includes content related to mental illness and suicide. Auditions will include a short interview.
