HOME is an original collaborative theater work centered around narratives of homeless youth and young adults in Boston and Brazil. These texted have been sourced from personal testimony as well as from published speeches, essays and other sources. Rebelling against one unifying narrative, the piece will consist of thematic vignettes, using poetry, movement, and projection in addition to more traditional theatrical devices to showcase the diversity of lived experiences of home and homelessness. This show seeks to raise consciousness around an issue that is often ignored in the international, national, and local political arena, and will open just as Harvard’s new student-run shelter for homeless adolescents does.
