Deborah wakes up. Her doctor tells her she has been in a coma for twenty-nine years. Her mind tells her that she is sixteen. Pinter’s one-act play unfolds in real time, exploring Deborah’s struggle to comprehend her circumstances in the minutes that follow her awakening.
